1. Small cracks may be visible between terrain patches with different levels of detail.
Megaterrain MAX
1. Mental ray does not support Megatexture material. So you can only use the Default scanline renderer with megatextures. If you use bitmaps or other standard materials for a terrain you can render it with mental ray.
2. If you put modifiers over the Megaterrain object it won't be rendered properly. View-dependent tessellation will not work, the mesh from a viewport will be rendered instead.
3. If you create more than one Terrain object in the scene, use unique material for every terrain object, otherwise it won't be rendered properly.
